Answers to the Frequently Asked Questions
Is image version of the email address really safe from spammers' robots?
As for the moment, yes. Spammers are not using OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software in their harvesters, because they would have to scan all the images on every website - and it would take a huge amount of time.
Are spamstone services really free? Where is the catch?
Yes, they are all free and there is no catch.
We have invented and built the tools to take care about our own email addresses. Then we decided to share with everyone interested and help people fight SPAM, which we really hate.
If spamstone services are free, what is the "Donate" button for?
We don't charge for our services, but we have some costs - mainly hosting and maintenance. Donations help us keep the services free.
How many emails can I protect with spamstone?
There is no limit. You can:
- register unlimited number of email addresses
- generate unlimited number of images for each address
- set up unlimited number of email aliases.
Do you add any ads to email messages forwarded with aliases?
Of course not. Think once more - these messages reach only the user who is already using our services...
How to add a new email address?
Just follow the "See your email address list" link and then click "add new email" below the table. A text field will appear. Type in your address and click "save changes".
The new email address will show up as unverified until you click a link sent to this address in an email message.
How to generate and publish my email address as an image?
Click the number next to "images" on your email address list and then choose "add new image" below the table.
Adjust text formatting and click "refresh" until the image looks exactly like you wanted. Then save the image.
Back in the list, click "get code" next to your new image. Copy all the code and paste into your website/blog.
Remember not to modify the code in any way.
How to set up an alias?
Click the number next to "aliases" on your email address list and then choose "add new alias" below the table.
The alias address will be generated for you automatically. You can set an expiration date to have the alias active only for a certain period of time. If you don't set the date, your alias will be active without time limit (expiration date 00/00/0000). Click "save changes" and you can start using your brand new alias.
How to check how many times my redirection link has been clicked last month?
Simply click the number next to "clicks" on your email address list.
Then use the date pickers below the chart to define the time period for the chart.
How to see how many messages have been forwarded with my alias?
Go to aliases (click the number next to "aliases" on your email address list) and click the number showing the total number of forwarded messages.
A chart will appear. You can narrow the time period using the date pickers below the chart.
Do you collect our email addresses to send us SPAM?
Just to remind you: we are fighting SPAM, not sending it...
